Ottawa students see a lot over the course of a school year, but very few assemblies still manage to surprise them. Live magic does, because unlike a video or a guest speaker, nobody in the room, including the performer, knows exactly how the next thirty seconds will go. That unpredictability is what keeps a gym full of kids locked in from the opening trick to the closing bow, and it's the foundation every set we build for schools starts from.
Rather than a magician performing at students, our school shows are built around them: volunteers are pulled up throughout the performance to hold the props, call the shots, and take the credit when the trick lands. That participation does double duty, it keeps the energy in the room high, and it gives the rest of the audience someone their own age to watch instead of just the performer.
